Go gairid i ndiaidh dĂĄr nOifigeach Teanga agus CultĂșir a cheapadh in 2019, chlĂĄraigh an club le FondĂșireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha agus chuaigh muid i dteagmhĂĄil Conradhnagaeilge Craobhnalorgan, Comhaltas Clanbrassil Branch - Lurgan & GlĂłr na nGael.
Dâfhoilsigh muid ĂĄr bplean cĂșig bliana dĂrithe ar chur chun cinn na Gaeilge agus an ChultĂșir ar fud an Chlub agus an Phobail ĂĄitiĂșil. In ainneoin dhĂșshlĂĄin COVID, cuireadh gnĂomhaĂochtaĂ an phlean i bhfeidhm, chomh maith le cinn nua, lena n-ĂĄirĂtear â cuairteanna for-rochtana; ranganna tosaitheoirĂ/meĂĄnleibhĂ©il, fisiciĂșla agus ar lĂne; lĂ©achtaĂ; amhrĂĄin i stiĂșideo taifeadta, fĂ©ilte agus ĂłstĂĄil ar Fheis bhliantĂșil na LorgĂĄn; oĂcheanta scannĂĄn; seisiĂșin biongĂł agus trĂĄth na gceist; nathanna agus seanfhocail seachtainiĂșla; comharthaĂ, pĂłstaeir, bileoga, litreacha, rĂomhphoist srl. ComharthaĂ dĂĄtheangacha istigh agus amuigh; athainmniĂș ĂĄr bpĂĄirce mar PhĂĄirc Naomh Peadar agus gealltanas fadtĂ©armach don Ghaeilge i mbunreacht an Chlub; scolĂĄireachtaĂ Gaeltachta; foghlaim AmhrĂĄn na bhFiann; agus seisiĂșin cheoil thraidisiĂșnta oĂche Aoine.
Le dĂ©anaĂ, sheol muid an balla liathrĂłide dĂĄtheangach mar aon leis an leabhrĂĄn nuĂĄlach idirghnĂomhach frĂĄsaĂ atĂĄ ar fĂĄil frĂd cĂłd QR dĂĄr mbaill agus don phobal araon. Ar deireadh, ach gan amhras nĂ a laghad tĂĄbhachta, tĂĄ na 3 bhonn Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha â ceann crĂ©-umha agus 2 cheann airgid â ar taispeĂĄint go brĂłdĂșil inĂĄr seomraĂ club againn.
An-turas a bhĂ ann, an-Ă©acht atĂĄ bainte amach againn, agus tĂĄ muid thar a bheith buĂoch agus umhal as a bheith roghnaithe mar Club Gaeilge na Bliana 2024 ag CLG Uladh. ââ

đâïž St Peter's Club Lurgan - A Club for All, where hope & history are intertwined and selected as "Club Gaeilge na Bliana 2024â âïžđ
Soon after the appointment of our Irish Language and Cultural Officer in 2019, the Club registered with the Joe McDonagh Foundation while reaching out to Conradh na Gaeilge Craobh na Lorgan, CCĂ and GlĂłr na nGael. We then published our 5 year plan focusing on the promotion of Irish Language & Culture across the Club and the local Community.
Despite the challenges of COVID, actions in the plan plus new ones were implemented, including - outreach visits; beginner/intermediate classes, physical & online; lectures; recording-studio songs, festivals & hosting Lurgan's annual Feis; film nights; bingo sessions & quizzes; weekly phrases & proverbs; bilingual internal/external signage, posters, flyers, letters, emails etc; renaming our grounds PĂĄirc Naomh Peadar and giving a long-term commitment to the Irish language in the Club constitution; Gaeltacht scholarships; learning AmhrĂĄn na bhFiann; and Friday night traditional sessions.
More recently we launched the bilingual ball-wall as well as the innovative and interactive coaching phrasebook complete with QR Code. Last but by no means least are the 4 Joe McDonagh medals - one bronze & three silver â proudly displayed in the Clubrooms.
What a journey, what an achievement and we are immensely grateful and humbled at being selected Club Gaeilge na Bliana 2024 by Ulster GAA ââ
